WAR III

The distant sound
Of a trumpet's wail.
The battle begins,
And the banners flail.

Blood covered ground
For so many grieved,
Still the cannons roar,
For in killing they believe.

Marching in silence,
They bear no name.
For the war among them,
They are to blame.

Forever they'll mourn,
For the lives they stole,
Haunting their dreams,
Their faces so cold.

From behind their guns,
They watch them fall.
Bloodshed and chaos,
Because they stood tall.
