UNCLE EARNEST'S TOWER
One bright day on Elm street,
Two little boys came out to meet.
They stood there and talked for 'bout an hour.
And then they took off for Uncle Earnest's tower.
When they got there they began to climb,
And this did take a great deal of time.
They started low, but then went higher,
And quite soon they began to tire.
They finally reached the top of the tower,
And they had lost much of their power.
They were very tired and very upset
For they knew they had to climb down still yet.
They sat there quietly for a minute or so
Because they didn't know which way to go.
But suddenly one jumped up and said to the other,
"I know a quick way down without much bother."
So they jumped.
