TO SMOKY WITH LOVE
She remembers so long ago when first
You came her way. She held you in the
Palm of her hand. How soft you were
That day.
The boys hid you that first night
To keep them from knowing, that there
Was a golden ball of fur just
Waiting to make a showing.
Through the years the time she's
Spent in snow and ice and rain, to
Walk you so that you could be
Content to sleep again.
You've always been the perfect dog,
So sweet and loyal and loving.
But also one with spirit and spunk
That makes her smile just knowing.
And though her heart is full of
Sadness, she knows that you are fine,
For you have gone to a better world
That's bright and pure and kind.
