TO A SNOWFLAKE
Slowly, slowly coming down
Passing through the fleecy clouds,
You came dancing, twirling, flying,
Like a part of thistle down.
Faster, faster, you came smiling,
Through the brisk, cold winter air.
You came dancing, twirling, flying,
Looking for your place of rest.
Sailing, sailing through the skies,
On your short, short winter cruise,
You came dancing, twirling, flying,
Closer to your destination.
Slower, slower you got,
Now you're resting on the ground.
How they miss you pretty snowflake.
You came dancing, twirling, flying,
Only to die and melt away.
