They ask for a drink
Yet He fills the vast oceans.
They settle for a rosebud
But His gardens are boundless.
They take one breath at a time
From His air that surrounds them.
They wish on a single star
That this endless universe encompass.
They bask in a sunbeam
While His sun warms all of earth
How small are their needs
Exceeded by His grace and omnipotence.
They ask for healing
When their gift is His own perfect image.
One of peace--joy--and rest
Where love and abundance prevail.
Their safety and security
Rest solely in His caring hands.
He is consummate provider
From His eternal storehouse!
