THREAT

Beneath the shadows of
Human discard,
Their minds often blaze
With the dream of a
Safer world
Born from a hungering need
To seek safety with foes--

The wickedness of the atom
Tempted man & gave him
A way to destroy
To fear
Himself.

With sweeping demons of
Science & politics allowing it
Peace inches further from their reach &
"Security" comes--wrapped in a
Threat of doom.

"Salvation" may come--
Trapped in the heart of the bomb.
