THEIR SEA OF LOVE

They lived by the sea
And caught the spirit
Of each sparkling wave,
Each foaming crest
Another height to reach
Like their love, so strong
So young, so brave.

The sea subsides--
Becomes a shining smoothness
Of emerald green,
And like their love,
No longer turbulent and wild
But deep, enduring and serene.
