THE STORM IV

The rain pounded in with wind driving her out
To that place she's known all about
The black and gray enveloped her skin
The wet and cold are her terror within
As she doubled back, it started to unfold.
What no amount of money could ever hold
The strength and endurance it took to survive
Only one small thing could keep her alive
She had no destination of who she is
She knew she was lost in the crowd of man
She's just adrift on a sea of forgotten places
Looking in the mirror she sees different face
But outside the window she's looking in
On all she's accomplished and all that she's been
She's now accustomed to the coldness and rain
If she'd feel without love, she'd feel without pain
She bundles against the words that would keep her warm
As she turns faces into the eye of the storm
