THE SENSES OF LOVE

There was a smell of love in the air tonight.
What did love smell like?
Like family and friends and couples
If you wondered what love sounded like,
It sounded like two hearts beating together
And voices telling each other they love each other.
And going further, what did love look like?
Love looked like words forming quietly in the heart
That want to be sad, but trip over
The tongue on the way out, or
It looked like a white tiger just waiting
To be let out of its cage.
One hundred billion flowers in the world
But only one rose for the one who loves you.
That is how love smelled and looked and sounded.
And tonight you could almost touch love.
