THE MIRROR II
Some questions that he asks himself
While wishing on a star:
Does the world show simply what it is,
Or reflect just who they are?
It is possible what he sends out
Returns soon manifold?
Does what you give count more or less
Than what you hoard in gold?
Might it be true, when they forgive,
That life begins anew?
Could it be, if your cheek is turned,
They grin less than you do?
Perhaps the life was held so dear
Comes easiest this way:
Look in the mirror, survey the scene
Make changes there and pray.
