THE MEANING OF EASTER

Break the chains of death, dear Love,
And cast them to the side.
Love freed them at the cross,
When for their sins He died.

Drops of sweat which flowed like blood
He endured for you and her.
He hung upon that rugged cross,
That they could be set free.

O Lord, may they be worth the price,
You paid in full that day.
Those precious eyes looked down with love,
Before you went away.

You let them find the tomb that day.
The stone was rolled away.
And from the Mount of Olives,
You arose on the third day.

When you return again to earth,
Just as You went away.
May they be worth the price You paid,
On Calvary that day.
