THE INNOCENCE OF YOUTH

Listen while he speaks,
Of the idleness of youth.
For his own sad existence,
Is great living proof.

While they search and they wonder,
As if lost in a haze.
All they know that's for certain
Is the passing of days.

Then time seems to be endless,
Na, they will never grow old
Why, to even make mention,
You must be so bold!

But the years slip behind them,
Like the waves neath their sails.
Then at least they give over,
As their first grandchild wails!
