THE INCHWORM

He watched in wonder, one spring day,
As a tiny inchworm made his way,
Up the side of a very tall tree.
He thought how much he was like him.

He had the treetops on his mind,
And he knew he'd get up there, given time.
He had a very long way left to go.
His way was hard and his way was slow.

He knew if he waited, and tried hard enough,
The treetop he'd reach if he just stayed tough.
One inch at a time that's all he could do,
But he'd do it like that if he had to.

An inchworm given you a lesson to live.
When you haven't anything left to give,
Just work on the problem one inch at a time.
You'll find you can do it, if you make up your mind!
