THE GOLDEN DOOR

As they sailed across the sea
They thought about their destiny
They looked back in wonder
Is it worth the hunger?
The coldness?
The sadness?
Would there be gladness?
It seemed that they had begun to spin
Should they survive? How?
Finally one gloomy day
They reached the land so far away
The immigrants rejoiced and said,
While they dig their feet into the shore,
"We've finally reached the Golden Door!"
