THE GIRL SHE LEFT BEHIND

She met a girl in the east. Her hair was the color wheat.
The blue of her eyes, match the blue of the sky.
Her laughter was like twinkling bells.
That made her heart swell
Then came the time, when she left that girl behind.

She wrote in the sand, "I love you."
She wrote, "I'll be true to you."
She cried, "Remember me,
As you go to your home by the sea."
Then came the time, when she left that girl behind!

Now she stands alone, she hears her voice on the wind.
She wants to bring her home again.
For her heart, she must amend.
She must go back in time,
And claim the girl she left behind!
