THE GIFT II

He gave to her a priceless gift
She sat it on a shelf
Thinking that one day
She would use it for herself.

Surprisingly the years went by
With no thought of the gift
For you see her friend
She had begun to drift.

She was floating along
On life's careless sea
Paying no attention
To the chains placed on her.

Are thoughts for tomorrow
Did she allow herself to think
When all of a sudden
She began to sink

It was then she began to cry.
"Dear Love I need Your help"
Then He reminded her of His gift
Lying dust covered on the shelf.
