THE FLAG POLE'S BARE
The flag pole's bare
What have you done
As Americans die
From the enemy gun.
How can you not think about it?
He does all the time.
Do it for your country
Or you're committing a crime.
How can you not think about the families
That need to see it so much.
How can you not think about the families?
That may never touch.
But still the flag pole's bare.
So in his heart he's crying.
How could you dare?
They need STARS and STRIPES flying.
Flying high for the world to see.
To erase all doubt.
What this country means to him,
And what patriotism is all about.
These words he loves
But the bare pole that inspired them is a drag
If he had to live with two things
He would take his woman, and he would take his flag.
