THE CONTROVERSIAL DEED

She heard a fly in terror today.
It was caught in a spider's web and could not get away.
The hungry speedily coming spider planned to feast
On this terribly frightened beast.

Try as she might,
She could not ignore the fly's horrendous fright.
She released the fly
From this most horrible way to die.

The spider lost a meal.
The fly gained its life,
Alleviating its inner strife.
Did she do right? She really doesn't know!

Any caring person who has ever heard a screaming fly
Facing eminent death, will understand why
She could not stand by
And let the fly die.
