STRANGE CHANGES
ALONE adrift the deep blue sea,
A porpoise tossed a note to her,
Bottled for posterity.
She opened it most carefully
And read the note quite thoroughly,
But all it said was: "RESCUE ME".
She pondered these words, briefly,
When a thought occurred unbiddenly
And she leapt to her feet excitedly.
"AHA!" she yelled, "A kiss will free
This prince porpoise enchantedly;
Then rich he'll make me, gratefully,
And we'll live forever happily!"
WITH dreams in mind she bent and knee
And kissed the fish most eagerly;
Never thinking alternatively.
WHAT happened next is history,
Taught to children repeatedly,
For she became this toad you see.
