SOMEDAY--NEVER

Hopes, dreams, and fantasies
Converging into a single track;
A straight line running to infinity;
Past and present becoming future;
Thoughts of someday, of togetherness,
Fading like powder snow in sunshine
Or an endangered species;
The past, unalterable,
But shaping the future.
In another life,
Another time and place,
They could have been together.
The dream will remain,
But the reality will be--
