SOMEBODY SAID

Somebody said her clothes were torn
Somebody said her shoes were worn

Somebody said she had no food
Somebody said she didn't go to school

Somebody said her father ran away from home
Somebody said they were all alone

Somebody said her house was falling down
Somebody said they slept on the ground

Somebody said there was no hope
Somebody said she'd start using dope

But they meet a man
He took them by the hand

He said He did care
He said He will always be there

He said He will give them food
He said He will help her get to school

He said He would see them through
He said, "I died for you"

He said my children don't be afraid
He said it doesn't matter what somebody said.
