SISTERS III

Girls, women
Cut from the same cloth
But of such different patterns;
Strange & complicated stitches
Holding the fabric together.
At times, the thread breaks--as it must
To reshape the design;
And then, to have it sewn again
Lighter & looser, yet--stronger from the breaking!
Such vivid colors are chosen, & placed together--
Which fight with, & then, compliment each other
Slowly; Finding a comfortable place
Next to one another.
Bright & soft; Bold & gentle
Woven together in a tapestry
Telling their tales of who they are &
What lights or darkens their lives.
And so, in the continual weaving together of who they are--
Is the most holding, lasting, strengthening
Thread of love.
