REFLECTIONS III

Hurry,
It's another day
Time to do all that she wants
Hours to fill, with her poetry and art
And yet...
Everywhere, signs of autumn
Regardless of how she feels

Going too fast, her summer is past
Roses and daisies and pansies to say good-bye to.
Enjoyed to the fullest
Ended and mourned
Now comes the mums and the asters, Indian corn.

Seasonal, but so enjoyable
Everything's golden and red
Nicely colored, smelling of fall
She really appreciates this palette
Of one of her favorite times of all
Reminds her of burning leaves of pumpkin pies
Sweaters and old good-byes
