PLASTIC RAINBOWS

He's chased too many rainbows
In his quest for greed and glory--
Now, the years have left him empty
Like a book without a story.

Nothing left for him to conquer--
No more treasures left to find,
Just a plastic neon rainbow
Fills the corners of his mind.

He tossed his pride into the wind--
Stood clear of all conclusions,
But now he finds that all he's gained
Were only mere illusions.

There comes a day in each man's life
When he's got to pay his dues--
That time for him is here and now,
What more is there to lose?
