NIGHT MAGIC

She looks into the darkened night
What she sees is magic
Of a winter evening in the woodland

Full moon glistening on a flowing stream
Ripples shining like silver eyes in the dark
Flashing their enchantment to the night creatures

Shimmering water flows around ice covered stones
Iced lace patterns splashed free form against them
Sparkling like diamonds in the moon's light

Frost covered ferns lean heavily over the banks
Trees like twisted dark shadows reach into the sky
Pointing toward tiny lights of flame

Stars of the universe gleam down in a black velvet sky
Night sounds surround her
Eerie calls of the natural world

Soft rustles in the underbrush
Deer moving in slow motion
Shadows of the night

Life abounds around her
Alone, yet not alone in this magic night
