MOTHERHOOD

She holds the newborn to her bosom
Marveling at the child she has blossomed
After nine months of discomfort and stress
Her life is enriched by the child she is blessed

She will guide the child down the road of life
Being there through life's perils and strifes
Watching the child nurture and grow
Sometimes going too fast--
Sometimes, going too slow

Wondering what the future holds
In store for her child
Will the child blossom like a flower
Or, like a weed, grow wild
"I will do everything in my power"
She thinks, with a smile,
"To give the love and guidance
That only a Mother can
To her child."
