MAN'S DISTRUCTION

The trees she has seen in her
Childhood,
Her children shall never lay their
Eyes upon.
For once they towered high above her,
But today they fell at the hands
Of man.
Great towering trees that had earned
Their place on this earth,
Have been left behind by barren
Grounds.
Never shall their leaves turn green
In the spring,
While their roots drink of melted snow.
Never shall her children look upon
Them with wonder,
Wonder unlike that which she sees
Today while they observe the
Destruction of man.
