When the rain is on his shoulders
And the thunder's in his ears;
And he feels the pain and sorrow
Of a hundred-thousand years;
JUST THEN LOVE looks upon him,
With compassion for his plight,
And his Spirit comes beside him
To bring peace, and love, and light.

When the world has left him lonely
With a feeling no one cares
And his burdens are too heavy
For there's no one there to share;
JUST THEN LOVE sees deep inside him
To his aching, broken soul;
And the balm of His Salvation
Comes to heal and make him whole.

When his mind is filled with sadness
For the darkness on this earth,
JUST THEN LOVE's love effervesces
And gives life, and love and worth.
