JUST THE OPPOSITE

He pledges allegiance to his country,
And for everything it stands.
He's been taught that since he was born,
But still: he doesn't understand.
Now that he's grown it's easy to see,
The trying times they're going through.
Racism, homelessness, and life itself,
Are breaking this country in two.
What in the world is wrong with this place,
What happened to the meaning of free?
It must have died with the King himself,
Doesn't anyone care about his dream?
This sickness is so hard to see,
Discrimination is a million different ways.
Don't listen to that song; hey, his color is all wrong,
Will people ever change?
Racism is not an opinion, it's a fact,
That has become this country's fall.
He keeps hoping to wake from a dream to find,
This is not his country at all....
