HUMANICITY

She wishes she were a person instead of a race when she would not be judged
By the color of her face. Then race would be endurance only for
The strong and color would not signify if you were right or wrong.
Emerging now from darkness, pressures force what should be free, un-
Leashing once restrained humanity. Through love they now become aware
That it's humanicity, yet many yearning to be free still lack
Authenticity--a touch, kind words shared in a glance, the commonness
Of circumstance. What makes the scales balance for the things that
Should be known, such weighty matters should not be based on color
Tone. If emerge they must knowing all amount to dust, reflect the true
Light of responsibility, thus displaying humanicity.
