HER WINTER
The world was all ice and snow
As she took her walk today.
The bitter cold wind stung her soul
And took her breath away.
The distant sun gave no warmth
As if swallowed by the sky.
And all creation seemed to feel
The same despair as she.
How far away spring's green joy!
How bleak icy winter's strife.
Yet silently, secretly there,
A promise waits--new life.
Season of rebirth, come so
To her--Love's love felt anew.
Like gentle breeze melting ice.
Like warm seeds bursting through.
