Standing in tall order
Looming wall of green and brown
Maui's fabulous mountain crown
A passage through vast matters
From roots within the earth
Where lava flows did softly glide
Under constant shifting light
Stars twinkle all around you
Sun crawling up your rim
Old Pacific tower in the sky
Come so many eyes to spy
Tropic sky so close embrace you
Your crest lost to the view
Opened wide crater
Ancient sun bather
A living force of the universe
