GLASSWARE

Glassware glistening
Standing row by row.
In the china closet,
What tales, could tell,
Of things they know.

Like to humankind,
Diverse, diverse as can be
There piece by piece
Their position to uphold,
Of station, status, dignity.

They listen to the chic stem,
As it release to the goblet,
A boring boast...
Calling attention to the times,
There! Held high in hand,
Center
A Champagne Toast.

The snifter snickers to the tumbler,
The high ball smirks, as pony neighs.
Seeing empty transparent
Lonely are those,
Indulging, in self praise.
