FREE TO FEEL

Joy leaped forward on the wings of her laughter,
From pleasure of being her mom and dad's daughter

That pleasure soon frozen, she lost every feather,
The storm of divorce, the child just couldn't weather.

Enter a stranger who fondles & feels, joy cries out in fear but he just won't quit,
He's bigger than her, he makes her feel sick, her mind from her body she'll just simply split.

The years keep on passing, joy continues to run,
She splits again and again; the pain finally goes numb.

Working and living and loving in vain,
Life is destroyed by the fear and the pain.

Time passes, she watches it, she sees it in parts,
A word fitly spoken, a nightmare soon starts.

She refuses to remember, but her mind knows it's there,
O'er time, her heart's broken, too shattered to care.

Pieces and fragments, all parts of her whole,
They thought they should die, a heart unrepairable.

But anger & sorrow keep digging for joy, so little by little their memories will heal
The search is so long for the freedom to feel...but oneness is freedom for the mental ill.
