FORGOTTEN SECRETS

As she looks into the mirror,
She sees memories of you and her.
Talking, laughing, telling secrets, hoping,
For the day their love would be free.

The cold wind pushes the tears down her cheek,
So far that she can feel them splash
Into the ocean tides below.
As she looks down from the secluded spot
That only you and she knew about.

A place to think, dream, cry, laugh,
But there are no cries of the gulls in the distance.
Only the sound of her heart breaking,
As she throws your red rose against the mirror
And she watches the shards fall to the floor.

They seem to melt away,
Like the tears she cried over you,
The last day.
She looked into your eyes and she only saw her own....
