FORGIVENESS

At their very last breath
Love knows their thoughts.
As their life leaves them
He enters and forgives.

Surely He knows how sorry they are
For any sorrow they have caused.
He takes their sins
And washes them away with his tears.

They see their lives before them
And they want to make amends,
But, it is too late for that,
For their souls can no longer speak.

But, Love, in His mercy
Carries their sorrow for them
Into the hearts of those they leave behind
And they hear them and they know.
