DEPRESSIONS

Depressions, invader of the mind
Unforetold and silently
A panther that will stalk his prey
His kiss swift and efficiently

Such is depression--undetected
Until it settles like a veil
All thoughts turn bleak no hope in sight
A ship without a sail

Like quicksand, slowly closing in
No one to pull you out
An endless desert without rain
A voice without a loud.

Such overbearing obstacle
Can there be victory
For in the end it's do or die
To be or not to be

How does she win the fight at last
To be depression-free
It is a battle of her will
And thought of blissful glee.
