DEAR GRANDPA HEATH
She has heard so many wonderful things about you,
She wishes they could've met;
The things you did, These things you said,
None--will Rick forget.
He tells her you were his special hero,
To him, the greatest man alive;
The laughter you shared, These lessons you taught,
All--Rick keeps inside.
From a little boy to a wonderful man,
Over the years he's grown;
Grandpa you must be so proud to see, all
The things he's done, Those things he's learned,
All--from you alone.
Grandpa, she must say--
She loves the man you made;
He's kind, he's gentle and warm,
He's her best friend and her rock,
Through every calm and every storm;
The things they've done, Those moments shared,
All--from You they've come.
From the peaceful farm, to the hurried city,
He has come a very long way,
But not too far and not so long,
That there'll ever come a day, when
The things you did and Those things you said
Will ever go away.
