DANCING SHADOWS

In the center of a dark, lifeless forest,
A bright moonbeam gently shines,
Through the empty branches of the hundred trees...
A cold breeze whizzes through the damp air,
Causing the dead, fallen leaves to awaken...
The sound of an owl's hoot breaks the silence,
And old branches creak...
Creating a scary noise.
As the moon shines, trees come alive...
The shadows dance
As
The wind moves the limbs...
Tree bend as their shadows run wild,
Until
Clouds cover the moonlight...
Suddenly,
Their dancing ends...
Silence and darkness appears once again,
Shadows vanish...freedom gone...
Trees retreat into sleep
Leaves remain still,
Until
The moon shines again...
Creating fantasy once more....
