COUNTRY IN HIS HEART

Oh, his name ain't Merle Haggard
And it sure ain't old George Jones
Glen Campbell can rest easy
Cause he's ready to rest his bones.

He's just an old dude from the city
Who ate a western tune
Got hooked on country music
And he's crazy as a loon.

Can't read or write these pretty notes
Tunes just get into his head
Guess he'll keep on writing words
Till the day that he is dead.

If he were to leave a legacy
For those who follow him
Just put your thoughts on paper
For someone to see.

Lord, how he wishes that he could write
All those little notes
That would show his love for music
And is heard by western folk.
