COUNTING STONES
She has gathered many stones
Today she counts them
Stones that were cast
Not aimlessly but well
Some shot with great velocity
Sometimes they missed
While off they hit their mark
Hurting aside she gathered them
Finding little consolation
In their cold presence
If she did not build with those stones
She might cast judgement
On those who threw them
Problem--what shall she build
A stone fortress--
So none can reach her
A wall--to keep them out
NO--she shall build a monument
To the strength and choices
Those stones have given her
