CANCER'S BOX

She hides her fears in a black box,
And the pain she feels inside,
Can lurk just as a sly fox,
The way it can hide.

She knows what hangs there is death,
In her room she will sit and cry,
Savoring each and every breath,
She knows she soon will die.

She knows it won't go away,
She just stares down at the floor,
And no matter how hard she will prey,
The cancer lurks hard evermore.
The taste in her mouth lasts forever,
She's in for a painful ride,
The needle goes in, just like a lever,
And when it was over, she cried.
She hides her fears in a black box.
And the pain she feels inside,
Can lurk just as a sly fox,
The way that cancer hides.
