A MOCKERY

In this world of madness, she
Has no time for herself...
The others pull her to and fro,
Her wish they'd let her be...
She weeps hot tears of loneliness,
But they only see her smile--
And so her heart breaks silently.
She's laughing all the while.
The chains that bind her break her
Shell, her open wounds exposed.
They shout and mock her from afar,
As she slowly decomposes.
Where are the minutes of her life?
Why have they passed her by?
Their sharp tongues pierce her empty
Heart and she can only cry.
Why must they make a mockery of
How she's made to be?
Oh Lord, please snap her bindings,
Set her weary soul free.
