A HOLE-IN-ONE

Listen to the sound of the gentle wind.
Slowly it lifts and tosses the sparking white sand.
The brilliantly colored leaves on the tall and gangly trees
Wave little fingers in the gentle breeze.
The bright green grass stands out boldly like a king on his
Throne.
Daring everyone to try for the elusive hole-in-one.
The stillness is broken as a ball wizzes by
Like wings on an eagle it soars to the sky.
Over the grassy knoll it descends
While you eagerly stand on "needles and pins."
Suddenly the sound of metal fills the air
As the ball hits the flag pole and drops in the hole with a
Flare.
You've finally achieved your goal, the battle you've won
As you shout and proclaim, "It's a hole-in-one!"
