A DAY OF WATERCOLOR
A pale yellow blaze sat about
The hazy blue empty,
Smudges of black fluttered throughout.
Emeralds in bloom through which no light penetrated,
Scatter as rubies and ambers
Upon the stroked greens faded.
Trees undressed of their gems,
Ready themselves for the innocent
Crystals of rebirthing hymns.
Nature's harmonizing buzz drowns,
Within the dewdrops
Of the dying dawn's sounds.
Hidden in the whispering bitter
Speechless silence sustains,
A day awaiting winter.
