THIS RIVER

She sits here on this rock under a tree
In this now, special place.
She watches and hopefully learns the beauty
Of life around.
Such a powerful force throwing itself
At every beautiful thing.
And everything it hits turns out to be
A peaceful calming sound.

The life of this river she envies for her own.
At a swift moving pace she handles
Everything in her way.
This river will last forever but will she sink to the bottom?
This thought runs through her head
With each and every day.

This time she shares alone with herself
Is showing her a way.
She wants to live like this river does and be
As beautiful as she.
A place she feels that she belongs not frightened lost or alone.
In time she hopes to find this place that she loves, inside of her.
