THEY'RE REALLY TOO OLD

They're really too old to go at this speed
To plant spruce trees or entire grass seed.
They're really too old when the snow whirls about
To fill a wood box or take ashes out,
They're really too old to feed cows grain
To handle big bales without intense pain,
They're really too old to hunt with a dog
To ear tag a calf or pull a sheep from the bog.
They're really too old to drive a long way
Or weed a garden a whole full day.
They're really too old to frolic or dance
Even too old for much of romance:
All these things they try, that she's told,
But really her dear, they are too darned old!
