THE SADDLE

"Did you see that saddle?"
Her husband said to her.
"I sure did" then settled back,
And let her mind run free.

She could smell the leather,
And feel the softness too.
She could remember just how it felt,
Some enjoyable times it's true.

Then she could hear the noises,
Of leather rubbing leather.
She was back upon her horse,
Riding, no matter the weather.

Then she felt the comfort,
That knowledge from within.
She suddenly wasn't all alone,
Daddy was in the wind.

"Lucky" was engraved upon the back,
Of the saddle where she sat, with roses abound
Then she was riding off again,
Yet her feet never left the ground.
