THE FORGOTTEN MAN II

She saw him again today
In tatters pass their way
Shuffling along with weary tread
All hope within him dead.

Once he was happy with future bright
Then almost overnight
On the heels of the great Depression,
Came idleness and Shame.

She's seen him pick up from the street
Cigarette butts trampled by passing feet
Overlook it, if you can
The plight of their Forgotten Man.

Why in this World's great Scheme
Need Chaos reign Supreme
When all they ask is just a chance
To work and have romance?

Where is the Ruler of their great Nation?
Love Bless their America
Do not let these be empty words
Like the stomach of The Forgotten Man.
