SILENT TEARS

Many times now she's seen winter go by,
Many years she has felt spring.
She's watched as shadow crept across her floor,
And as leaves fell off the trees.
She's seen lovers holding hands
And known fear beneath the sheets.
She's prayed a million times to feel love
And cried when it came too late.
She's had her share of hellos.
That always ended in goodbyes.
But, never has she felt defeat,
For the world's numerous lies.
She's tried to keep her peace
With the world outside her soul.
To keep her dignity and her heart one piece.
But her life still has a big hole.
Without you here, she is lost
Her soul a ghost wandering in the cold.
Searching for yours and crying silent tears
And always, forever, alone.
